Ellis County Sheriff’s Department to participate in Fentanyl abuse panel

ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in a “Tipping the Pain Scale” film premiere and panel hosted by Impact Communities in partnership with Hickory Trail Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 24 from 1-4 p.m. at the Texas Theater in Waxahachie.

The panel will highlight opioid/fentanyl abuse and education.

Aug. 21 is National Fentanyl Awareness Day in the United States, with an emphasis on raising awareness of the dangers of fentanyl use.

Fentanyl has been linked to a number of overdose deaths in the past few years and is a growing problem in North Texas.
