FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (August 31, 2023)

In observance of Labor Day, the library will be closed Monday, Sept. 4. We wish you and your families a happy holiday!

Let’s puzzle together! Come by the library starting Sept. 5 to work on the library’s community puzzle. Place 2 pieces or 200!

NEW BOOKS: “Unfortunately Yours” by Tessa Bailey, “Everyone Here Is Lying” by Shari Lapena, “Finding Us” by Tracie Peterson, “The Dangerous One” by Lori Foster, and “Patent It Yourself: Your Step-By-Step Guide to Filing at the U.S. Patent Office” (Dewey 346) by David Pressman.

FUN FACT: Can you wear white after Labor Day? This old tradition goes back to the late Victorian era, where it was a fashion faux pas to wear any white clothing after the summer officially ended on Labor Day. The tradition isn’t really followed anymore. The logic behind the fashion trend: white indicated you were still in vacation mode at your summer cottage.

The library is located at 301 E. 10th St., across from Mutz Ballpark. Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov or (972) 544-2110, Option 9.
