FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (January 25, 2024)
It’s tax time again! We have 1040 IRS tax forms for individual taxpayers and 1040-SR forms for taxpayers who are age 65 or older, available at the library. Staff members can access various other tax forms for you from IRS.gov but are not able to give advice or help you complete the documents. Copies are 10¢ per page.
February is Black History Month, and of course, Valentine’s Day is observed on the 14th.
BUT – did you know that it’s also National Library Lover's Month, which is dedicated to the people who love whole buildings devoted to reading, housing, organizing, categorizing, finding, studying, and otherwise loving books? If you don't have a library card, it's never too late; visit us to get one! Stay tuned for all the events we have planned for February at the library.
Story Time is hosted every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Children are treated to stories, fun activities, and a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the Treasure Chest to take home.
After-School Game Time is held each Thursday from 3:30 - 5 p.m. Children can play the PS5 on the large screen in the meeting room. Board games are also available!
NEW BOOKS: “The Burnout” by Sophie Kinsella, “Knowing You” by Tracie Peterson, “The Manor House” by Gilly Macmillan, “Unnatural Death” by Patricia Cornwell, and “Energy Follows Thought: The Stories Behind My Songs” (Dewey 782) by Willie Nelson.

Pope Urban VII was Pope of the Roman Catholic Church in 1590 for less than a fortnight. He died of malaria just 12 days after becoming Pope, making it the shortest reign in the history of the church.
