ROISD’s CTE dedicates gazebo built by students
RED OAK – Red Oak High School Construction Tech students and teacher Doug Wuerch have been busy this spring building and installing a gazebo on the back porch of the ESC. A dedication was held for the structure on May 3. Guests included students and their families, teachers, administration, and school board members.
Wuerch explained the project and formal permitting process while students shared some of the project challenges and detailed steps for construction and installation.
The student-designed project had unique angles that required teamwork to install properly. And a wide variety of tools were used to modify the fit to be just right.
CTE Director Jennifer Jeter presented a plaque to be placed on the structure detailing the students on the build and the dedication to the district for support of construction education.
After the dedication, guests enjoyed lunch cooked by the FFA on the new cooking trailer in the ESC backyard.
