NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

OVILLA ECONOMIC 

DEVELOPMENT 

CORPORATION TYPE B

 

The Ovilla Economic Development Corporation, a Type B economic development corporation, (the “Corporation”) hereby gives notice pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code, Section 505.159 and 505.160, et seq. that the Corporation proposes to conduct a public hearing on a proposal to declare the following a “project” and to use sales tax proceeds to approve funding for the Project, described as follows:

The EDC will consider a proposed project involving the  transfer of an approximate 2.86 acre tract of land, comprised of the following three parcels:  (i)  Parcel ID Number 187748 more commonly identified as 708 West Main Street, Ovilla, Texas, 75154 (misidentified in ECAD as being within Red Oak, Texas); and (ii) Parcel ID Number 187741 located within the corporate limits of the City of Ovilla, Texas; and (iii) Parcel ID Number 194181 located within the corporate limits of City of Ovilla Texas, (collectively the “Property”) pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 253.0125, et seq, from the City of Ovilla to the Ovilla Economic Development Corporation, a Type B Corporation, for future commercial development that will promote the generation of sales tax, for use of the Property in compliance with the Historic Overlay District regulations, and consistent with other zoning and development regulations applicable to the Property.   

The Corporation will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, 105 S. Cockrell Hill Road, Ovilla, Texas 75154 to allow the public to present comments for and against the above proposed Project for economic development. The financing for this project will be paid with sales and use taxes levied and paid to the Type B Economic Development Corporation. None of the funds for the proposed Project will be paid from property taxes.
