NEW BOOKS: “Lone Star Legacy” by William W. Johnstone, “Killstraight Returns: A Killstraight Story” by Johnny Boggs, “An Unfinished Murder: A Medlar Mystery” by Jude Deveraux, and “Untangle Your Emotions: Naming What You Feel and Knowing What to do About It” (Dewey 248) by Jennie Allen.
WORD OF THE WEEK: “Verisimilitude” (vair-uh-suh-MILL-uh-tood): the quality of seeming real (noun). Novelist Jane Austen is often considered a master of verisimilitude because she created characters that feel like actual people to her readers. To this day, historians continue searching for real people who may have inspired Austen’s characters because they seem too real to be fictional.
The library is located at 301 E. 10th St., across from Mutz Ballpark. Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov or (972) 544-2110, Option 9.
