Red Oak Police asking public for help in locating murder suspects

RED OAK – Red Oak Police are asking the public for help in locating additional suspects in a murder that happened in the city on Aug, 22, 2023, around 11 p.m. in the 200 block of Troy Lane in Red Oak.

Police were dispatched to a shooting on that evening and upon arrival found a young black male, identified as Christian Claycomb, with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and arms.

Claycomb was later pronounced dead at the hospital due to his injuries.

Police discovered the shooting had occurred during a marijuana transaction planned by Claycomb.

Claycomb and another person were on Troy Lane waiting for the delivery when a black Dodge Charger arrived.

When the two men approached the vehicle, shots were fired from the Charger before it drove away toward Cole Road.

Police found evidence at the crime scene including the victim’s mobile phone.

Through surveillance of audio/video recordings from that evening and review and forensic extraction of the cell phone information, Red Oak police identified resident KamRon Wilson, 22, as one of the murder suspects.

Wilson was arrested on charges of murder on Dec. 8, 2023, by Red Oak Police and booked into Ellis County Jail.

This murder is still under investigation, and police are asking for information to locate additional involved suspects.
