Midlothian Heritage skates past Mesquite Poteet, 49-0

MESQUITE – In a dominating performance, the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars triumphed over the Mesquite Poteet Pirates with a commanding score of 49-0.

Heritage showcased their offensive prowess, amassing 256 rushing yards and demonstrating the strength of their physical offensive line.

Za’ko Davis led the charge with 94 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Malik Crutcher added 102 yards and a touchdown of his own. 

Heritage Quarterback Carter Rutenbar had an impressive outing, completing 7 of 11 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and contributing 53 rushing yards and another score. Ryan Satterwhite and Koen Goralski were the recipients of Rutenbar’s touchdowns.

On the defensive side, the Jaguars were relentless, overpowering the Pirate’s offensive line and consistently pressuring their quarterback. Jaylin Hawkins made a highlight-reel play with a scoop and score touchdown, and Jaime De Los Santos stood out with his strong performance.

This comprehensive victory not only showcased Heritage’s offensive and defensive depth but also sets the tone for the remainder of their season.

The win pushed Heritage’s record to 5-3, which was their third straight on the road. As for Poteet, their loss dropped their record to 2-6.

The Jags will host the Corsicana Tigers this coming Friday on Senior Night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
