OBITUARY: Marjorie (Margie) Coffey
Marjorie (Margie) Coffey, 100, a longtime resident of Houston, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019.
Born June 2, 1919 in Clarksville, TX, she was the daughter of the late Walter Deck Coffey and Winnie Bell Pierce Coffey. She grew up in Rockett and Ferris, graduating from Ferris High School, and later moving to Houston. Margie attended Abilene Christian College (University) and graduated from Draughon's Business College in Houston. She then spent her 40+ year career working for Central Parts Warehouse/Fred Collins Company before retiring.
Margie enjoyed traveling and spent her retirement years globetrotting. Her favorite travel destination was Hawaii and she took numerous trips there with her friends from Hillcroft Travel. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Spring Branch and First Baptist Church, Ferris.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Deck Coffey and Winnie Bell Pierce Coffey, her sister Juanita Pressly in 2019, her sister Nancy Cowen Jordan in 2018, her brother Bobby Coffey in 1985, and her nephew Tommy (Tom) Pressly in 2013.
She survived by her niece Diane Coffey Dean of Brock, TX, nephew Kyle Cowen of Richmond, TX, nephew Greg Pressly of Plano, TX; great-nephews: Ryan Pressly of Houston, TX, Marshall Dean of Pflugerville, TX, Grant Pressly of Plano, TX; and great-nieces: Lindsey Dean of Ft. Worth, TX, Jenay Pressly, Julia Pressly, and Jill Pressly all of Plano, TX.
Graveside Services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019 at Bell's Chapel Cemetery, Rockett, TX.
