Canton steamrolls Life Waxahachie, 51-0

WAXAHACHIE – The Canton Eagles claimed a resounding 51-0 win over the Life Waxahachie Mustangs on the road Friday night.

The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third quarter, with the Eagles up by 39 points.

Canton’s defense held Life Waxahachie’s offense to just 56 total yards rushing and 50 total yards passing.

The Eagles’ victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

As for Life Waxahachie, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them to 0-2.

Both squads will hit the road for their upcoming games. Canton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mabank at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 20. As for Life Waxahachie, they’ll square off against Trinity Christian at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13.
