GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Red Oak sweeps Corsicana 3-0
RED OAK – The Red Oak Lady Hawks varsity volleyball team closed out their regular season with a sweep over visiting Corsicana on Senior Night.
Red Oak started the game with 6 of their 7 seniors taking the court. Senior Gracie Lee was still recovering from her leg injury earlier in the season, but she would get her time on the court in Game 3.
In Game 1, the starting 6 seniors built an early lead over Corsicana’s Lady Tigers, and once the rotations from the Lady Hawks started, they extended the lead and never trailed, winning 25-9.
In Game 2, Head Coach Hope Porter rotated in many of her younger players to get valuable playing time heading into the playoffs. The Lady Hawks won 25-20.
Game 3 was just like Game 2, with many of the underclassman picking up valuable game time, but the highlight of Game 3 was when Coach Porter took a time out leading 24-13 to rotate in her last senior, Gracie Lee (8). Lee served the ball and a couple hits later, the Lady Tigers hit the ball out of bounds giving the Lady Hawks the 25-13 win.
The Lady Hawks now get set to play McKinney North in Plano on Tuesday, Nov. 1. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
