SEPTEMBER 2: Midlothian Heritage 64, Cleburne 0

CLEBURNE – Midlothian Heritage built a 31-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and coasted to a convincing 64-0 win over Cleburne.

On the second play of the game, Heritage senior running back Jason Barela took a handoff up the middle, broke a couple of tackles and raced 55 yards for a touchdown to give the Jaguars (1-1) the lead only 40 seconds into play.

Later in the first quarter, Barela broke another series of tackles and found the end zone from 65 yards out, giving Heritage a 24-0 lead midway through the opening quarter. On his first three touches, Barela had 125 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
