WEEK 3: Midlothian 35, Killeen Shoemaker 26
MIDLOTHIAN – Drew Wendel threw for two touchdowns, and ran for one touchdown, leading Midlothian to a 35-26 win over Killeen Shoemaker on Friday night at Midlothian ISD stadium.
Wendel threw for 147 yards and completed 12 passes, two of which were touchdowns to five-star Clemson commit Bryant Wesco.
Wesco caught a 6-yard touchdown pass with 34 seconds left in the first half, pushing Midlothian (2-1, 1-0 District 4-5A I) to a 14-7 lead going into halftime.
In the fourth quarter up 28-20, Midlothian’s Michael Garber rushed up the middle 44 yards to the end zone to secure the victory for Midlothian.
Malachi Jerome threw for 189 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown for Shoemaker (2-1, 0-1) in the loss.
