WEEK 8: Midlothian Heritage 38, Ennis 35
ENNIS – Midlothian Heritage kicker Jordan Soto sent a 22-yarder through the uprights with two seconds to play to force overtime after Ennis had appeared to win the game on an unbelievable touchdown pass by four-star Oklahoma pledge Gracen Harris just over a minute earlier.
But Soto wasn’t done. When Midlothian Heritage’s drive stalled in overtime, they brought out Soto for a 39-yarder that he once again calmly converted.
That was his fourth field goal of the game and proved to be the difference as Ennis missed a field goal attempt in overtime to allow Midlothian Heritage to escape with a dramatic 38-35 victory in a game that could end up deciding the District 5-5A Division II title.
