The operation was called Operation Genesis because it was a first of its kind in Ellis County and one that many agencies took part in. As Sheriff Norman stated in a press conference held May 28, “We will actively pursue those who target our children.” 10 individuals have been arrested and the remaining 6 are being actively pursued.

Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman addresses the media following the arrest of several suspects for “Solicitation of a Minor,” a felony offense. “My office is going to work diligently on those cases going forward, and hopefully as the Sheriff said, send a message to those child predators – don’t come to Ellis County and target our most vulnerable, because we will do what is necessary to protect the children of this county,” District Attorney Ann Montgomery added.
